Sesame Street
Sesame Street Live......What an event. We had been talking about it with Noah all week long. For anyone that knows me this is a big deal. I grew up terrified of Costume Characters (Easter Bunny being the biggest phobia) and still get a little anxious to this day. So me taking Noah to such an event was huge.
We get to the Mabee Center and we get the toy ($15)....the one toy. Although when I asked Noah what he wanted he pointed to the Elmo Fuzzy Hat (looked like a pimp hat). I laughed and purchased this light up spinny thing instead - he seemed happy with it, UNTIL we walked in to find our seats. We were on the top floor, looking down at the stage and Noah freaked. Cried all the way to our seats on the 2nd row. My heart drops...I realize he is going to hate it. His little heart racing as he clings to me. We sit down and the show starts within a few minutes. It was loud. I am yelling Hi to all the animals and actually not as fearful. I wanted Noah to enjoy it....but I also didn't want to scar him for life by making him watch. See what plays out....

Him clinging to me before the show even started

By the 2nd song he is slowly peeking....maybe not so bad.
Ooh they come close to our seats.

Max enjoyed it from the beginning

Noah finally relaxed by the 4th song and let me turn him around.

Fireman Cookie Monster

Intermission with Luke. As happy as could be. Actually got out of his seat and danced for a few minutes.

By the end of the show he is pointing, standing up in his seat and yelling at Elmo, Cookie Monster, Oscar the Grouch

And Max had enough stimulation to knock him out before the show was even over.

All in all it was a great day! Jason and I enjoyed it as well. Noah kept saying "That was a good show" all the way home.

Milestone Moment - 11 months
Max started really walking on Monday, March 24th (more than 2 steps). He hasn't really stopped since. He isn't running any marathons yet but he can get around pretty good now. Yeah Maxi!
Saturday Fun
Saturday we went to the Minshall Park Easter Egg Hunt. It was great, there were eggs everywhere. We got there a little early so we decided to play a bit and then stake out a good spot to get all the eggs. We kept reminding Noah that he couldn't touch the eggs yet we have to wait until they said go. He accidentally stepped on an egg and when he did candy came out. So, smart little guy that he is would walk around and sort of step on an egg, real slow and then leave the egg and put the candy in his basket. When they finally yelled "GO" Noah just stood there. He didn't move. And got very upset when I was trying to tell him to go get the eggs. All these kids are running around picking up eggs and Noah just stands there. I think he moved 2 feet the entire time. But he did get a few eggs and of course all the candy he got BY CHEATING....

March Weekend
Noah and Max went to a Pirate Birthday party on Saturday, Noah's friend Nicholas turned 3. Noah enjoyed playing with the toys more than the actual party. I think he had a good time once all the other kids left and he could run around in the backyard.
We also went to the Miller's house and decorated Easter Eggs. Getting ready for the Easter Bunny. Every time I explain to Noah that the Easter Bunny is going to come and hide eggs he thinks it is the funniest thing he has ever heard. Can't quite understand the concept of a bunny hiding eggs. And why in the world would he bring him candy too. Yes I could by a book explaining it all and the "real" meaning behind Easter, but I like watching his little mind trying to work.

Nicole and I had to laugh....we didn't do a very good job preparing for the Egg Decorating. My mom always had everything ready to go to decorate. I thought, how hard can it be? Well, it isn't that hard if you have all of the ingredients (like vinegar). We just had water, which was fine but the boys were getting restless so we didn't even wait for the little things to dissolve. And then on top of that our eggs had just been hard-boiled so they weren't cold. Half the eggs were broken by the time we finished but they will still be good to eat. I guess you could call this "the learning year". We know what to do for next year when it really counts.

Friday with Jason
So Friday's home with daddy are actually working out okay. I come home and the boys are alive. That's good. I ahve to admit Jason is doing a great job. But there is a catch......no naps. I guess Noah has his number b/c he will not nap for Jason. This particular Friday, I get home from work and Jason had plans that evening. Jason recaps the day and tells me Noah did not nap for him. I am having a girlfriend come over with her children, so I am a little worried he will be a bear, but what can I do. It's to late to make him nap and to early to put him to bed. So, I do what I can to "please" him at this point. I am making dinner, feeding Max and Noah wants goldfish crackers in a plastic bag. I give him the goldfish and he goes on his merry way to enjoy them. It wasn't 5 minutes later I hear him talking to himself and then it gets quiet. This is what I find....

Poor little guy he was so worn out, couldn't even enjoy his crackers. Most people would not find this out of the ordinary...but Noah never falls asleep just anywhere, it is always in his bed. He got to sleep for about 45 minutes until little brother decided to make his way over and steal his crackers and eat his feet. Oh the joys of being a big brother. He really didn't skip a beat though, as soon as he woke up he began eating his crackers again. Now granted I had removed them from his lap and he was eating air, but he thought they were good.....I guess

COMPOOER
Noah's Compooer. Yes, that's what I said....Compooer. He is actually getting pretty good at using the mouse by himself. Although once it gets turned upside down it can be a little frustrating. He likes this pop the balloon game. The compooer says what color to pop and he gets most of them correct. And he is so proud of himself for popping them.
New Kicks
As you can see, Maxi got some new kicks. These are his big boy shoes. He is doing much better trying to walk, he doesn't keep tripping over his pigeon toes. Everyone says not to worry about how pigeon toed he is...they say "he'll be a fast runner". Whatever that is supposed to mean? That's all I need at the age of 2 when he is throwing a tantrum in a store and his Pigeon Toes come in handy and he can "run fast" from me.....wow what a scene I just invisioned.
