Who's the man in the big red suit?

Meeting Santa Claus for the first time can be a little overwhelming. All the hype and Noah has really no idea still what is going on, what Christmas is about, etc, etc.. His first experience, last year, was a little calmer than this year. We as parents almost expect them to get it by the age of 2. That isn't the case and it is a little scary. We go up to the cute tiny white house with the red carpet that leads the path to the front door. Mrs Claus is there to greet us and Noah seems fine, no big deal. We get in the house take off our coat and say "HI SANTA!" with all the excitement a parent can muster. Santa immediately gives him a cookie - Noah thinks "Hey this guys not so bad". Mom gives Max to Santa. Max, going through a little stranger anxiety, starts bawling. Now Noah is thinking "wait, I am not to sure about this.....". We try to coax Noah up to Santa and Mrs Claus needs new batteries in her camera. Now this isn't the best time to delay a 2 year old. It's time - Dad sits Noah on Santa's lap. His lip begins to quiver. Mom yells at Mrs Claus "take the picture, quick". Sure enough Noah is done - he is having none of it, trying to wiggle off of Santa's lap and Santa holding on to him for dear life, helping capture the moment in a picture. Mom picks Noah up gives him a big kiss and Noah politely tells Santa with tears coming down his face "Thank you for cookie Santa" and we leave. Outside the cute little white house Noah yells "Bye Santa". As if nothing had happened at all. What a great first experience with Santa. We can only hope next year will be more fun for him and he won't remember the scary man in the big red suit but the man in the big red suit who gives me cookies :)
