Friday with Jason

So Friday's home with daddy are actually working out okay. I come home and the boys are alive. That's good. I ahve to admit Jason is doing a great job. But there is a catch......no naps. I guess Noah has his number b/c he will not nap for Jason. This particular Friday, I get home from work and Jason had plans that evening. Jason recaps the day and tells me Noah did not nap for him. I am having a girlfriend come over with her children, so I am a little worried he will be a bear, but what can I do. It's to late to make him nap and to early to put him to bed. So, I do what I can to "please" him at this point. I am making dinner, feeding Max and Noah wants goldfish crackers in a plastic bag. I give him the goldfish and he goes on his merry way to enjoy them. It wasn't 5 minutes later I hear him talking to himself and then it gets quiet. This is what I find....

Poor little guy he was so worn out, couldn't even enjoy his crackers. Most people would not find this out of the ordinary...but Noah never falls asleep just anywhere, it is always in his bed. He got to sleep for about 45 minutes until little brother decided to make his way over and steal his crackers and eat his feet. Oh the joys of being a big brother. He really didn't skip a beat though, as soon as he woke up he began eating his crackers again. Now granted I had removed them from his lap and he was eating air, but he thought they were good.....I guess

COMPOOER

Noah's Compooer. Yes, that's what I said....Compooer. He is actually getting pretty good at using the mouse by himself. Although once it gets turned upside down it can be a little frustrating. He likes this pop the balloon game. The compooer says what color to pop and he gets most of them correct. And he is so proud of himself for popping them.

New Kicks

As you can see, Maxi got some new kicks. These are his big boy shoes. He is doing much better trying to walk, he doesn't keep tripping over his pigeon toes. Everyone says not to worry about how pigeon toed he is...they say "he'll be a fast runner". Whatever that is supposed to mean? That's all I need at the age of 2 when he is throwing a tantrum in a store and his Pigeon Toes come in handy and he can "run fast" from me.....wow what a scene I just invisioned.

What's up with the weather

We took advantage of the BEAUTIFUL weather this weekend and went to the zoo. Noah's friends Luke and Abby came along. SO I have to ask.....why is it 30 something and snowing today? Oh well at least we got great weekend.

BIG NIGHT...and morning

THE PICTURES SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES!

I had been asking Noah for quite a while now if he wanted to go sit on the potty. Everyday was the same thing...."No". So as usual I asked and this time he ran to the bathroom. Big deal! I realize he is naked and grasping the rim of the toilet - but it's a start at least. I think 1 little drop made it in the toilet but that was good enough for me and for Noah. He got a Pablo sticker (Band-Aid) when it was all over!

An evening at the Phillips household

He settled for the gloves over the suspenders.

and he found a sharp object.

Noah learned to take pictures. He got pretty good at the end.

Cheerios stick to faces if you lick them.

Noah figured out that our coffee table is also a boat

Daddy's first Friday home with the boys

We have taken the boys out of daycare on Friday. Jason will spend most days with them. Here was a recap of that day....

Wrestlefest 2008

Max fell and got a fat lip

then Noah called Nonni to tell her about it

All in all I'd say it was a good first Friday home for the boys. I can only imagine what Jason will have planned for them by the end of the summer.

Roadtrip

My mom and I decided to take the boys down to Dallas for something new and exciting. The trip down was Looooooonng. What was supposed to be 4 1/2 hours seemed like 7. Max cried pretty much the entire way. Noah started in about the time we hit Dallas traffic - he had had it with Max. But we made it and had an enjoyable time. We took the boys to the Flight Museum. The ride home was much easier. We left right before Max's nap time and he slept almost the whole way. All in all an adventurous weekend.

Grampa Phillips would be proud.

Max enjoyed it too.
